A Little Note from the Empire: "I Found The Way"

Something magical happened today...
I found the way.
And who would've guessed?
It was through the dark forest that lay before me all this time. The one I could never quite make my way around. The one that was stubbornly vast and rooted in ancient soil. That burrowed deep into an underworld I had hoped to leave undisturbed so as not to wake its dead.
For who wants to wake the dead?
"This could be easier," I often thought to myself. "I could float above it all, make my way around the brush, untouched."
But the trees stood taller than I could fly.
I swore I could avoid this undertaking. It mustn't be meant for me—a wilderness so foreign. My body quivered in such a peculiar fashion, as if to tell me, "This isn't the way."
But the flora knew otherwise, I suppose.
So maybe I was wrong.
Maybe the way is through.
I had grown so accustomed to allowing this tapestry of chaos and intertwinings to live in the distance—separate from me, yet always there. Maybe it abides within the bounds of my existence.
Who am I beyond this woodland?
Maybe I find myself if I dare to venture through it.
Is this forest where richness lies? Where all my missing pieces that I have yet to know are to be found, deep within this thicket of enchantment?
This is the way, I now know.
Through foreign lands, to meet myself—a Self I've yet to meet.
Maybe it's the quivering corpse inside of me that couldn't enter this forest—but I can...
I will.
This time armored in Peace.
(I inhale deeply as I step into a small opening in the tanglewood.)
